How to Ace Field Work Viva in your First Semester?

May I take 2 minutes to think?

Hello Everyone!

I'm briefing you on what things you have to keep in mind for Field Work Viva preparation.

  • Your Complete Agency Profile: History, journey, how it started, who started it, vision, mission, MD/CEO/Chairperson, or the main responsible person behind your agency, and in what areas your agency functions (Education, CSR, whatsoever).
  • Your Major Activities: Now, prepare team activities that have been conducted by you along with your partner, as well as individual activities. (If you don't have any individual activities, then just coordinate with your partner and distribute some of the activities among yourselves at field work.)
  • Major Learning: What are the learnings, skills, or anything that you have acquired in your fieldwork.
  • Major Observation: Any major observations.
  • Suggestions you have provided to the agency or you think that the agency should improve? (Never tell that the agency didn't provide any work to you, and you just sit idle, or else the Viva panel will haunt you for not taking initiative. If they don’t provide any work, it’s our responsibility to continue asking them for work. You can also take on a small project there or take some initiative.)
  • Read Collateral Readings: You should be able to explain the basic concept. (Is there any relevancy of your Collateral Reading in your Agency? Also, try to avoid collateral reading from the Internet & use books. If you do use the Internet, limit those readings and ensure they come from authentic sources.)
  • Read about Collateral Visits: Why you have visited those agencies? How is it related to your agency?
  • Books that you have referred to for subjects, for Collateral Readings, for overall your knowledge improvement.
  • Any government schemes related to your agency or work you have done.
  • Read the complete CSR Act thoroughly. (i.e. CSR comes under which section of Companies Act, 2013, and all other provisions.)
  • Do not require to read Labour Laws at all for your viva for your first semester, just memorize 5-6 labour laws names only with year and total 4 codes name only. And why the govt. introduced Labour Codes? (After first semester, start reading Labour laws as well.)
This is the bare minimum you require to do for Viva. Most of the questions will be around the above-mentioned topics only. Sometimes you might encounter some unpredictable questions, and you can say no to them if you do not have knowledge.

Never bluff in Viva. If you don't know, just say, "I'm not able to recall. I'll check this after Viva," or "Sorry, I'm unaware of this."

Baki bas confident rehna and smile rakhna face pe! 10-15 Minutes to yuhi nikal jayegi, agar aapne pressure liya ya faaltu nervous ho gaye to achhe jane wale Viva bhi kharab Jayenge.

All the best.
